Who we are

FindTaxHelp.co.uk (“we”, “us”) is an independent enquiry and matching service that helps people find tax and accounting professionals. We are not an accounting firm and do not provide tax advice ourselves.

FindTaxHelp.co.uk is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. You can contact us about anything in this policy, or about how your information is handled, at hello@findtaxhelp.co.uk.

What information we collect

When you submit an enquiry through FindTaxHelp.co.uk, we collect information including:

• Your name, email address and phone number
• Details of the tax or accounting help you’re looking for
• Your postcode or town/city
• Technical information about how you found us, such as the page you first arrived on, the website that referred you and any campaign (UTM) tags in the link

We deliberately do not ask for sensitive information such as your National Insurance number, UTR, bank details or tax documents through our enquiry form.

Separately, we keep a non-identifying summary of each enquiry — the service, broad location, urgency and date only, never your name, email or phone number — so we can understand overall demand for tax and accounting help. This summary record can’t be linked back to you.

How we use your information

FindTaxHelp is currently building its network of tax and accounting professionals. We use the information you provide to register your enquiry and understand demand for tax and accounting help in your area. Your enquiry details are not currently shared with any professional — we aim to connect you with a suitable professional as we onboard providers, and will use your contact details for that purpose when it becomes possible.

If you’ve given consent to receive marketing communications, we may also use your email address to send you occasional, relevant updates. You can withdraw this consent at any time.

Who we share your information with

We don’t currently share your enquiry details with any tax or accounting professional, since FindTaxHelp is still building its network. We share information with service providers who help us operate this website — currently Vercel (hosting), Resend (sending us enquiry notifications) and Google Analytics (site usage analytics, only after you accept analytics cookies). If FindTaxHelp begins actively connecting enquiries with professionals, this policy will be updated and the change reflected here before that happens.

How long we keep your information

We keep the details of your enquiry (your name, contact details and what you told us) for up to 12 months from when you submit it, after which they are deleted. If you ask us to delete your enquiry sooner, we will do so. The non-identifying demand summary described above contains no personal information and may be kept indefinitely. If you’ve consented to marketing emails, we keep your email address for that purpose until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information, and to object to or restrict how it’s used. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@findtaxhelp.co.uk. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
